The argument for my opinion editorial is the length of school/classes in college. Whether or not we should have shorter class periods which will result in a longer school year or longer class periods which will result in a shorter school year. I am for longer class periods with a shorter school year.
This argument is appropriate because now that we are in school a lot of students (and maybe even teachers) are dreading the hectic hours and school year and cannot wait for summer. I will be explaining why it is more appealing to the BYU population.
Outline:
Having longer class periods and a shorter school year is better for BYU because:
1. The learning process-more time for education
2. Pleasant atmosphere-longer summers, happier students and staff.
3. Family time-more summer, more time to spend with family.
This outline is strong because a lot of students can relate to this topic and it will be an interesting topic, whether they agree with it or not. It is debatable, yes, but my essay will have strong examples and information and it will influence a lot of the inhabitants here at Brigham Young University.
